The primary provider of equine assisted therapeutic, recreational and sporting activities to people with disabilities in Western Australia Riding for the Disabled Association of Western Australia (RDAWA) is a community based not for profit charitable organisation that provides horse-riding and horse-related activities to people with disabilities across Western Australia. All five RDA Centres in WA are accredited and approved as Service Providers under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). RDAWA offers a variety of programs and services to both children and adults with physical & intellectual disabilities, mental health issues and learning & behavioural problems in an inclusive environment. These programs are designed to enabled these people to experience enjoyment, challenges and sense of achievement through participation in equestrian activities that aim to improve their quality of life, attain personal goals and develop life skills The programs also provide individuals with opportunities for socializing, recreation, horsemanship and pathways to competition including Special Olympics and Paralympics. All RDAWA Centres are members of the National Association, Riding for the Disabled Association Australia (RDAA) through which they have strong ties with RDA in Britain, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia.
